24hours old...
Homebirth.
Homebirth. Amazing. Powerful.
Last week I had the greatest honour to watch a special little girl come into this world. Tracey birthed Tahnee in water, in a comfortable home environment. It was dark and quiet and it was just amazing to watch a woman take complete control of her body, to ride the waves of contractions, withdrawing into herself bringing her daughter closer to earthside with each painful minute.
granted homebirth isnt for everyone, it takes a special momma to do this, and I am so proud of my friend for achieving this.
I was shaking, and I have wanted to see a birth for some time now. I am so thankful for the experience.
This photo is just moments after she was born, and was lifted out of the water, when baby and mum met eachother....and then a few moments later the reality sets in. She's here!!! all the pain is going, we have a baby!!!! there is no words to describe the moment. those who have had children know the feeling well, and to be on the other side, the emotions are no less than if it was your own baby.

A love story....
I was invited to Brisbane to attend my friend Sara's wedding, the day her dreams came true.... the day she married her true love.....
A very different climate than home, and the scenery was lush green and the humidity high. This photo shows how gorgeous the setting was where the ceremony took place.
Unfortunately it did rain, holding off until the ceremony had finished, and then the heavens opened up.
The first kiss, a tender moment...
....and as all newly weds do, they kiss lol :)
taken under the tree while it was raining. I guess I cant complain, it wasnt hot and there were no flies :P

welcome to 2010
hello everyone!
old readers and new readers.
the trend this year is to do a picture a day.... well I think after a while it could get a little boring somewhat, as photography isnt about being forced, its about moments, when they happen, not MAKING them happen. Ok sometimes posing is nessesary in groups and families, but my favourites are usually the candid moments.
So instead of a picture a day, I will do a picture or 2 or 3, every few days.
I make a promise to add more pictures to my blog this year :)
spontanious moments, and just life around us.
kids, scenery, animals, farm......
my dear Olivia, my middle child. Having herself some ben10 choc custard.
